This Is Our Story
We have been very fortunate to have grown up in the beautiful West Coast of Scotland so are all too familiar with the opportunities and fun experiences it can offer. We wanted to create a unique and welcoming space that can offer a luxury break away in the countryside all year round.
‘The Pod Over By’ is situated at the end of our garden. We are a young family of 3 and love to meet new people. Our little luxury glamping pod has that ‘close to nature’ feel but with all the home comforts you need for a relaxing getaway. The outdoor seating area is a great spot
to relax and take in the views and the cosy underfloor heating ensures comfort and warmth in the winter.
We aim to provide a truly magical and unique experience for our guests to create their own unforgettable memories in this beautiful part of the world. We hope you enjoy these rural surroundings, sunsets, sunrises and rainbows as much as we do.
Planning was approved in February 2020 then the world shut down!
Fast forward to Spring 2021 and the groundworks were well underway. It was pretty chilly outside so our wee kettle put in a good shift to keep the workers warm. The workmen did a grand job and in the blink of an eye, stage 1 was complete.
Pod delivery day was here and the excitement levels were high!
It quickly became clear that the lorry could not access the pod site with the garden wall and fence posing an issue.
There was nothing else for it but to dismantle both to pave the way!
Stage 1
The pod was suspended in mid-air being carefully manoeuvred to its final destination. This bit was amazing to watch and the boys made it all look so easy!
Next up…the decking! We were so impressed at how this enhanced and transformed the space and how quickly it was created.
This is the perfect spot to sit back, relax and enjoy the stunning views.

Turning the lights on and flushing the toilet for the first time was yet another exciting day on this project!
Now for the fun part…it was time to get the soft furnishings in! We just loved when we got to ‘play houses’ in our brand-new pod!
This stage was just about enjoying the views, taking it all in and reflecting on the whole process.
Feeling completely overwhelmed that the pod dream had become a reality, we took some time to enjoy it as a wee family. The blood, sweat, tears and many hours planning/preparing was worth every single second!

Our daughter coordinated many sleepovers in the pod giving us the confidence that it was ready to hit the holiday letting market! She soon earned the title of “Quality Controller!”. The time came to hand over the keys and open for business.
